Let's Create!

Hewitt Studio was born from many of my friends, family, and wedding clients asking about custom illustration creations. Most of these supporters were asking about portraiture of their homes.
Stuck indoors during the pandemic, I think many of us found a new appreciation for the meaning of 'home' and all that it entails. Home is where families begin and grow, memories are made on the front lawn, gardens blossom and holiday lights glow. This journey into capturing the essence of a home for those cherishing them, selling them, or remembering them from years past has been a meaningful endeavor for me both as a homeowner and an artist.
Although I love to capture many subjects in simple expressive illustrations of black ink on paper, my honed skill in watercolor painting has offered my clients heirloom-quality work for an affordable price. Having a one-of-a-kind piece of fine art in your home with such palpable memory behind it is absolutely priceless!
I also enjoy many commissioned works of pets, children, engagement and wedding photos, automobiles, and conceptual pieces for special spaces like nurseries for new little ones or a fun addition to a family kitchen.
Please enjoy learning and sharing about my work and visiting my online shop. This small business is fueled by lovely supporters like you!

Commissioned Art FAQs
What is a commission?
An order for, or authorization of the production of (something such as a building, piece of equipment, or work of art).
What kind of things can be commissioned?
I take commissions for just about anything! If you have an idea of an artwork, or a theme for your space, I can work from that, providing you inspiration sketches and working together until we get to a final concept decision. Most commonly, I work from photographs you provide. My typical commission types are shown below - homes, children, pets, and wall art.
How do I order?
I now offer convenient online ordering for standard portrait sizes on my 'Shop' page -- your checkout in this fashion will collect your contact info, and you'll receive an introductory email from me (hewittandcompany@gmail.com) with instructions to submit your photos or artwork requests via email.
Once I have received your photographs for the portrait (or agreement on final concept), you are considered "booked" in my queue, and I'll get started and share an estimated completion date. Note: for holiday orders, I try to turnaround work much faster due to high-demand shipping season and potential weather delays.
What is the timeline for your work?
Once I receive a photograph from you, or an agreement on final concept for the work, I typically turn around artwork in 2 weeks. This is a production timeline and does not include shipping time.
How do I pay for my order?
I work with you directly, once you connect with me. Of course, you can pay for your portrait from standard art sizes directly on my 'Shop' page, with convenient online checkout.
If we are creating something more specific together, or you'd prefer to pay another way, I also take Paypal, Venmo, and cash or check. Just let me know your needs in your inquiry email.

Places
The special places in our lives shape who we are and hold deep meaning. Whether it's your first home, your childhood home, your wedding venue, or your business storefront, let me put it in paint so you can see it just the way you remember it.

Custom Art
Looking for something unique in your space? I can help! We'll start with visioning scale, style, and color palettes that elevate your space and bring you joy. Perfect for those feature areas like mantels, foyers, etc in your home or business!

Silhouettes
Crafted by hand, I use artisan grade papers to capture the sweetness of children's portraits in their silhouettes. Papers can be customized in color and pattern, and pieces are available in a wide range of sizes, from holiday ornaments to wall decor for your home.

Pets
I have a growing portfolio of pet portraiture that is some of my most sentimental work. A perfect gift for those who cherish their furry friends, or commemorating a high-personality pet. All animals welcome!
